A nautical style with inspiration taken from the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.
The definition of the style in Sweden called New England is actually a Swedish version and interpretation of geographical areas in the northeastern United States in combination with a nautical theme. The area which the style takes its name from consists of six different states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.
New England-style characterized by bright colors on walls and fabrics and contrasted and darker wood on the furniture. In Sweden we have probably taken the concept to us as it is easy to combine with our own archipelago style. Mainly, the Lexington and Gant Home conceptualise the American dream that now goes to export.
